Kerala introductions

“ It is like one of those places where the Starship Enterprise might land that superficially resembles Earth but is slightly off. It undercuts maxims about the world we consider almost intuitive… It’s as if someone demonstrated in a lab that flame did’nt necessarily need oxygen or that water would freeze at 60 degrees. It demands a new chemistry to explain it, a whole new science.” -

Dr.Bill McKibben, author, educator and environmentalist on Kerala

Kerala, a leader in international trade and commerce since ancient times, is one of the most sought after destinations for investors in all areas of modern business. It is rated as the most socially advanced, most cost effective and globally integrated state in the Indian Union. The state has identified some key sectors like tourism and hospitality, food processing, health care, information technology, bio technology, business process outsourcing, organic farming and high value commercial crops as its core competent areas. Kerala’s economy is marked by the significant presence of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME’s) in agriculture, manufacturing and services. This provides great scope for fresh investments as well as strategic partnerships. The state’s universally accepted ethical manufacturing and labour practices leveraged with pro-enterprise incentives makes 21st century Kerala the ideal destination for investors across the world.

It is good time to invest in Kerala as it is one of the fastest developing State in the Indian Union. Real estate prices have stabilised, Banking Sector is strong thanks to regulations made by RBI and Finance Ministry. Rupee value has touched 50 from 38 to a US Dollar. It is also good time to acquire or invest in shares and stocks of companies as the share value has come down. There is availability of educated and skilled man power at cheaper rates. Kerala tourism has not been affected therefore it increases the scope for hospitality, travel, wellness and handicraft businesses. There is very good scope for health tourism, value added product manufacturing in sectors like seafood, vegetables & fruits, cashew, coir, rubber etc.. The scope and value of amusement parks in South India has also gone up in the recent past.
